The West Michigan Alliance for Veterans currently provides services to:
The Veteran's Housing Assistance Program is a program to assist qualifying veterans looking to further their career or start a new one through college courses at an accredited higher education institute or trade school certification or program. The program assists veterans with rent or mortgage payments while attending college full time. This is a tangible way for the West Michigan Alliance for Veterans to make a difference in the lives of veterans and their families while they pursue a higher education or trade school certification.
WEST MICHIGAN VETERANS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
West Michigan Alliance for Veterans supplies the funds to purchase food for the West Michigan Veterans Assistance Program food bank. The food bank ensures no veteran that has fallen on hard times is left behind when it comes to the basic need of food and children's needs. The program provides food and personal care items to veterans and their families.
PTS OFF-SITE VETERANS RETREAT
The Veteran Retreat is held at Rockwell Lake Lodge in Luther, Michigan. The objective is to create a safe place where a small group of veterans can talk about their past without feeling judged. It is where brothers and sisters come to heal and support one another; comparable to a big base camp "it's secure, you're among friends, and everybody's got a story."
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY VETERAN'S REPAIR PROGRAM
West Michigan Alliance for Veterans has pledged to support the Veteran Program of Habitat for Humanity of Kent County to cover repairs of qualified veterans' homes for 2018. We are honored to be involved in a program that assists veterans in repairs.
